About
Greenbridge Condominiums, known simply as “Greenbridge,” is a contemporary condominium community located in what is known as the “Northside” neighborhood of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on the border with Carrboro and within easy walking distance to the downtown areas of these adjacent towns. Together with the State Capital, Raleigh (some 30 miles distant), and Durham (12 miles), Chapel Hill forms “The Triangle”, an area in the heart of North Carolina famous for its three outstanding research universities—NC State, UNC Chapel Hill and Duke—and home to the dynamic Research Triangle Park, the largest high-tech research and development park in the United States.

The Greenbridge complex comprises 96 residential units with 1-3 bedrooms, and commercial spaces, in two towers which are joined by a shared lobby and a second-floor breezeway. Greenbridge was built in 2008 as a sustainable project. Although LEED Gold Level Certification was never completed, the buildings nevertheless feature LEED Gold Standards of design and efficiency utilizing 50% less energy than adjacent buildings. Sound insulation and control over any mechanical noise and vibration are exceptional. In 2008, Natural Home Magazine named Greenbridge one of the ten most sustainable developments in America.

Greenbridge residents have access to a variety of amenities including a large 5th-floor residents’ lounge (the Sky Lounge) with a kitchen and an extensive terrace; a fitness center with elliptical trainers, treadmills, rowing and weight machines, and free weights; and a 30-seat movie theater with connections to streaming services. The large lobby is a popular meeting spot decorated with contemporary art provided by OneOneOne gallery and that is changed each quarter. Secure parking for residents is provided on two parking decks below the building.

Greenbridge Unit Owners are automatically members of the Greenbridge Unit Owners Association, which is governed by a Board of Directors elected each year by members of the Association. The Board works with a building management company responsible for the logistics of maintaining the building in top condition. A Concierge provides the face of the management company, taking care of the day-to-day needs of residents, guests and service providers.

Both Chapel Hill and Carrboro offer a wide variety of restaurants including some that have won statewide or national recognition. During semester time, UNC students contribute to a lively atmosphere downtown in the many bars and cafés that cater to them and of course on campus, just under one mile away. The campus hosts the Morehead Planetarium, the Ackland Art Museum and Memorial Hall, host to many of the world’s most famous musicians and performers. Carrboro is home to the ArtsCenter, an arts education non-profit that offers classes, performances, and art exhibits all year round. Close by Greenbridge are bicycle and walking trails, including Chapel Hill Greenways that offer walking trails for residents as well as safe passage for deer crossing the town. Further afield are the many cultural and entertainment venues of Durham and Raleigh.

Situated as it is between two such interesting towns and in an area noted for its many days of endless “Carolina Blue” skies and sunshine, it is no surprise that Greenbridge is a great place to live.
